As is the case after every round of league play, L’Équipe has compiled its “team of the week” for Matchday 8 of the 2026-2027 Ligue 1 season, which took place this weekend. Despite their 2-0 victory over Olympique Lyonnais at the Parc des Princes, no Paris Saint-Germain players were selected.

It comes as a slight surprise not to see any PSG players in this lineup, especially given their impressive, controlled win against OL in a clash for the top spot. It was a high-stakes encounter, yet it seems the Parisians still need to do more to win everyone over. It is not a major issue, however—this is merely an honorary distinction. What matters most happens on the pitch and in the league standings, where PSG has now taken the lead.
Of course, it is also worth remembering that there are many other excellent players in Ligue 1 who delivered performances worthy of recognition—even if one might have argued for the inclusion of certain PSG players (such as Matvey Safonov, Willian Pacho, Fabian Ruiz, Vitinha, or Maghnes Akliouche).
