As it does after every round of matches, L’Équipe has named its Team of the Week for Matchday 6 of the 2026-2027 Ligue 1 season, which took place this weekend. Despite their 3-1 victory over Le Mans at the Parc des Princes, Paris Saint-Germain saw none of their players selected.
It comes as no surprise; PSG were generally disappointing, and very few players were even in contention. Perhaps Maghnes Akliouche (a 24-year-old midfielder/forward), who played with enterprise and precision, eventually being rewarded with a fine goal. Or Matvey Safonov (the 27-year-old goalkeeper), who remained solid during the team’s tougher moments.
However, we know that Paris needs to make a real statement, given the high expectations surrounding the club. It is also worth remembering—as is always the case—that there are other great players and excellent teams in Ligue 1. No one “stole” their spot in this Team of the Week.
