This Wednesday, on Matchday 1 of the 2026-2027 Champions League, Paris Saint-Germain face Slovan Bratislava at the Parc des Princes (kick-off at 9 PM, CET). As always, we remain cautious, as coaches do not leak information to the media. Coach Luis Enrique is particularly adept at keeping his selections secret, sometimes resulting in major surprises. That said, we can reasonably expect to see a version of the starting XI take the field tonight—though there is still room for uncertainty.
There is fierce competition within the PSG squad, compounded by the players’ established versatility. It is therefore difficult to predict the lineup, especially early in the season, as no players have yet truly stamped their authority on this European competition. Starting Hernandez at center-back would be a first and somewhat of a surprise, though Willian Pacho has looked less impressive recently—despite some improvement against Monaco. Still, nothing can be ruled out.
We are therefore awaiting the official announcement of the lineups, due about an hour before kickoff, for confirmation.
