On Wednesday at the Parc des Princes, Paris Saint-Germain secured a 6-1 victory over Slovan Bratislava (PSG vs. Slovan Bratislava video highlights) in the opening matchday of the 2026-2027 Champions League. As we now do after every game, we asked our readers to vote for the best PSG player of the match. Ousmane Dembélé (29-year-old forward) came out on top.

It was a fine victory—and hardly a surprising one, despite the hat-trick scored by Ferran Torres (26-year-old forward). Ousmane also truly distinguished himself with two goals and two assists (both for Torres), alongside numerous chances created and his relentless pressing. While a few glaring misses in front of goal may have cost him some votes, they weren’t enough to knock him off the top spot for this match.
Also worth noting is the third-place finish for Nuno Mendes (24-year-old left-back), whose return after a three-match Ligue 1 suspension provided a significant boost. Maghnes Akliouche (24-year-old attacking midfielder/forward) and Dro (18-year-old midfielder) were also strong contenders for the podium thanks to impressive performances.
Thank you all for voting. As a reminder, the top three players from each match are used to determine the Player of the Month.
