At the end of the day, Paris got the job done with the win. It shouldn’t be overlooked; it was an important result, and it clearly showed that success is far from guaranteed. It was a tough battle against a strong Brest side on a night when the Parisians lacked precision and inspiration.

Earlier in the weekend, Rennes pulled off a major result—cementing their strong start to the season and their place among the leaders—thanks to a goal from new signing Adrien Thomasson. In contrast, OM is already a long way from their 4–0 opening-day victory and appears to be heading toward a crisis following a transfer window defined by player sales. Coach Bruno Génésio faces a massive challenge to turn things around.

AS Monaco managed to hold onto first place but saw their winning streak snapped by Strasbourg. The 1–1 draw seems a fair reflection of the game, despite the controversy surrounding the officiating. ASM retained the top spot on goal difference, while Strasbourg maintained their positive momentum, helping to put their opening-day setback behind them.

Paris FC and Olympique Lyonnais failed to join the leading pack, remaining off the pace after sharing the points in a match that was defensive—or simply dull. It was a shame; we had hoped for a more entertaining spectacle from both sides.

Lille was the team that ultimately capitalized, securing a valuable and well-deserved win over Troyes. The 2–0 victory allowed them to overtake ASM at the top of the table while confirming their excellent start to the campaign. It was a different story for Lens; although they staged a spirited comeback against Le Mans—fighting back from 2–0 down to salvage a 2–2 draw—they remain on just four points. The result is frustrating for the newly promoted side, who lacked defensive solidity.

Meanwhile, in the battle for survival, the standout story is AJ Auxerre finally securing a win after a rather painful start to the season. This victory… A 1-0 win over Nice—a first clean sheet—should do a world of good. Conversely, Nice has plunged back into crisis following a painful season in which they only secured survival via a play-off.
