Paris Saint-Germain secured a 1-0 victory over Brest this Sunday at the Stade Francis Le-Blé during Matchday 4 of the 2026-2027 Ligue 1 season. After the match, PSG head coach Luis Enrique spoke to Ligue1+.
Luis Enrique: “Sometimes, it’s unfair.”
In previous matches, there were no wins, yet you were satisfied with the performance; tonight, there is a win—what about the performance?
We did some good things in the matches we didn’t win, whereas tonight, we made a lot of mistakes. We started the match well, but we made plays that we don’t normally make. It was a difficult game; that’s football. Sometimes, it’s unfair. But today, we took the three points. We’re happy, but we need to improve.
I liked the chemistry between Dembélé and Torres—it seems to leave less room for Doué; do you feel the movement is better this way?
It was a tough match for the three forwards. I don’t want to single out any one of the three. We didn’t press the way we usually do. I’m very happy to have forwards of this caliber. It will be hard for them to play every game. But there will be a lot of matches, and in a team like PSG, you need options. I’m happy.
Luis Enrique: “I have to be honest, I expect much more from my players.”
Did you like what you saw regarding their relationship?
Honestly, nothing. I have to be honest: I expect much more from my players. When you aim to win the way we do, you have to control the game better; this match was difficult at times because we didn’t have the ball, and the opponent caused us problems. If you want to win matches the way we do, you have to improve—all the players, and the coach too.
Achraf Hakimi?
We have to wait until tomorrow. I hope it’s nothing serious, but it’s hard to tell.
