On Sunday at the Stade Francis Le-Blé, Paris Saint-Germain secured a 1-0 victory over Brest in Matchday 4 of the 2026-2027 Ligue 1 season. As we now do after every match, we asked our readers to vote for the best PSG player of the game. Matvey Safonov (the 27-year-old goalkeeper) came out on top.
It was a win that came as little surprise, given how decisive Safonov was in this hard-fought victory. Fortunately, his shaky attempts to claim crosses did not result in a goal against his team. This really highlights the importance of the saves he did make—saves that shouldn’t be overlooked. It is also worth noting that the Parisian goalkeeper was thrust into the spotlight by a performance that was otherwise quite disappointing, both collectively and individually.
Ferran Torres (the 26-year-old forward) scored, easily earning a spot in the top three. Ousmane Dembélé (the 29-year-old forward) also made the cut thanks to his assist, despite an otherwise rather lackluster performance. We also note the return to form of Willian Pacho (the 24-year-old defender), which is a welcome boost.
