In Matchday 4 of Ligue 1, Paris Saint-Germain traveled to face Stade de Brest this Sunday, securing a hard-fought 1-0 victory. After the match, Luis Enrique, the capital club’s manager, spoke to PSG TV to discuss his players’ performance.
Luis Enrique: “I would have liked us to have more control over the match.”
“It’s a very important victory. We knew beforehand that it would be a tough, tight game—as is always the case when we play here. But today, we started very well and managed to score that goal. I would have liked us to have more control over the match, but it proved difficult.”
Luis Enrique: “That’s football.”
“We made a lot of errors in the second half, and it was very difficult. I think we played less well than in the first three league matches, but unlike those games, we took the three points. That’s football.”
PSG came away with a positive result in their fourth Ligue 1 match of the season. Dominant in the first half, the Parisians managed to score the crucial goal that gave them an early lead. Although they created further chances later on, they unfortunately failed to extend their advantage.
The second half was more balanced, keeping Brest’s hopes alive. The Breton side managed to create opportunities but couldn’t find an equalizer. This allowed PSG to secure the three points, coming just four days after their resounding 6-1 Champions League victory. It is a result not to be overlooked, even if there is room for improvement moving forward.
