This Sunday evening, Olympique de Marseille (13th) and Paris Saint-Germain (7th) will face off at the Stade Vélodrome in the final match of Matchday 5 of the 2026-2027 Ligue 1 season (kick-off at 8:45 PM, broadcast on Ligue1+). It is a Classico for which OM has released a rather unique trailer.
They are rivals, so we know our opinion might be slightly biased, but we aren’t exactly sold on this attempt. Evidently, the Marseille faithful aren’t convinced either. It is hard to overlook the fact that OM has been poorly managed in recent years and that the 2026 summer transfer window has only deepened concerns, all while the bond with the fans continues to fray.
From where we stand, it is difficult to grasp exactly what the trailer is driving at, or who—if anyone—is being targeted. The editing isn’t particularly compelling, either. As for the phrase “they can’t understand,” is it a deliberate nod to the Luis Enrique documentary that caused such a stir after he took a dig at journalists with a similar line? It remains unclear. We hope Marseille shows more cohesion on the pitch this Sunday to avoid a setback that could plunge the club into crisis.
