Paris Saint-Germain secured a 2–1 victory over Olympique de Marseille this Sunday at the Stade Vélodrome during Matchday 5 of the 2026–2027 Ligue 1 season. After the match, PSG head coach Luis Enrique spoke to Ligue1+.
Luis Enrique: “Nothing special to say”
What did you tell them at halftime?
Nothing special to say; the match went exactly as we had planned—with plenty of difficulties, as is always the case playing away. Everyone says it’s easy to play at the Vélodrome, but it’s not an easy task. We tried to play our game; in the first half, we created fewer chances because the opposition played very well. Then, in the second half, we made some adjustments, and it turned into a great second half.
Can I see your GPS data?
I don’t have any (laughs).
Luis Enrique: “Nothing is easy”
We got the sense that you needed to support your players tonight…
It was very important tonight. We are in a different position than we are used to. But above all, we want to win Le Classique for our fans; it’s a very important match, and we knew that.
As a coach, I try to give the team what I think we need. If I feel we need more energy, it’s not hard for me to show that. Showing calmness—that might be harder.
I think we put in a great effort. I’ll say it again: before the match, everyone said it would be easy, but nothing is easy. I’m sure they will improve with a great coach.
