On Wednesday, RMC Sport revealed the vice-captain selected by France head coach Zinedine Zidane, while it was already known that Kylian Mbappé (the 27-year-old Real Madrid forward) would retain the captain’s armband. Ousmane Dembélé, the 29-year-old Paris Saint-Germain forward, was chosen for the role, alongside Adrien Rabiot (31-year-old AC Milan midfielder) and Jules Koundé (27-year-old FC Barcelona defender).
This choice comes as no great surprise, given the status Dembélé has established in football and within the national team. Furthermore, he demonstrates leadership on the pitch, and several teammates have highlighted his importance to the squad at PSG. He is expected to fulfill this role with the utmost determination while delivering strong performances on the field.
