Kylian Mbappé, Real Madrid’s 25-year-old striker, spoke to Canal +’s Clique. He talked about his time at PSG, his incredible years. He also talked about the way he behaves with the fans. He also spoke about Nasser Al-Khelaïfi, the Emir of Qatar and his Real Madrid dream.
Mbappé “I’ve enjoyed these seven years”.
“PSG has meant a lot to me. I’ve enjoyed these seven years. It’s been super intense, both good and bad. I’ve had seven extraordinary years, whatever the end. The mistake I made at the end or the last year was that people weren’t concerned. At the Parc des Princes, I was cheered right up to the last day. At the Campus, the same and even now.
Mbappé: “This club has given me everything, the fans and the players too”.
I had conflicts with natural people, I defended my rights as a man and as a player. It didn’t represent the club. The club gave me everything, as did the fans and players. It’s easier when you have a clear head. With the fans, I could have been more expressive. In the end, you put the club and the fans at odds.
They don’t know what’s going on, so they take it personally. I’m sure they think I’ve never liked PSG. A hobby before going to Real. I still watch PSG matches. I know every wisp of air at the Parc. You send me a photo of your seat and I know where you are in the Parc.
Mbappé “When they lose, it doesn’t really work, I know how the players feel”.
I know everything by heart. When they lose, it doesn’t really work, I know how the players feel. We’re going to take every little thing we can get our hands on to beat them with this Champions League obsession.
PSG sells and the media eat it up. They were quite happy to find the little beast when the stars were there. He didn’t make his own pass, etc. I still know a lot of players, I have close friends at PSG. I even write to the staff.
Mbappé “Football is about succeeding with the best”.
Nasser? He was right when he said he’d never let me go, and that’s what he did. I left on my own. I wish him all the best. I hope that one day PSG will win the C1, but not right now, I’m at Real to win it. The people who have suffered deserve it. I don’t regret leaving, no. Soccer is about succeeding with the best. I want to be the best among the best.
Mbappé “I’ve always had perfect relations with the Emir”.
My story is written in Paris, I’ve done some good things and some not so good. But I think I’ve succeeded all the same. I’ve given food, I’ve won trophies, I’ve made records, I’ve given emotions. The best club in the world is Real, there’s nothing better. I’d received unrefusable offers from PSG before, but I’d turned them down. But not when it came out. I’ve always had a perfect relationship with the Emir.
