Ousmane Dembélé, the 29-year-old Paris Saint-Germain and France national team forward, spoke to beIN SPORTS on the sidelines of Thursday evening’s press conference to discuss the match against Italy this Friday at 8:45 PM CET at the Stade de France. He spoke about the upcoming game with genuine enthusiasm.
Dembélé: “We’re really happy to be playing at the Stade de France again.”
After two convincing wins, how is the preparation going?
Very well. First of all, we’re really happy to be playing at the Stade de France again. As you said, we played two very good matches against Turkey and Belgium. We prepared well for those games, and now we’re preparing for the one against Italy—which will be just as important—in high spirits and good humor.
Dembélé: “We’ve had time to rest, too. I feel great and ready for tomorrow.”
What is the key to breaking down the Italian defensive block?
We’re going to play our game; we know that Italy is a major footballing nation. They have players competing in the best leagues in the world. We know it won’t be an easy match. We’re going to give it our all—especially for this return to the Stade de France—and do everything we can to win.
What kind of physical shape are you in?
Very good. The coach has played practically everyone, and we’ve had time to rest as well. I feel great and ready for tomorrow.
