This Saturday evening, Paris Saint-Germain secured a 3-1 victory over Le Mans in Matchday 6 of the 2026-2027 Ligue 1 season at the Parc des Princes. Here is a look at the highs and lows of this win.

Contents
The HighsThe lows.

The Highs

  • ❤️ Akliouche: a constant threat and a maiden goal

In an attack that often lacked cutting edge, Akliouche played a pivotal role in several key moments.

He set up Hakimi right in front of goal early in the match.
His header forced a superb save from Kocik before halftime.
He scored the goal that made it 3-1 in the 68th minute—his first for Paris.

Not everything was perfectly fluid, but his ability to both create and finish made the difference. His acceleration with the ball at his feet and his left-footed strike finally turned his intentions into tangible results.

  • Luis Enrique’s substitutions spark Paris into life

After the equalizer, Luis Enrique brought on Vitinha, Ruiz, Zaïre-Emery, and Kvaratskhelia around the hour mark. The response was immediate.

In the 61st minute, Kvaratskhelia pounced on the rebound after a Ruiz shot was saved.
Zaïre-Emery then set up Akliouche for the third goal.

The substitutes played a direct part in the two goals that decided the match. It demonstrated valuable squad depth, with players capable of changing the course of the game in a matter of minutes.

  • A deserved win that extends the winning streak

Paris won 3-1, marking their first home league victory of the season and a fourth consecutive win across all competitions.

22 shots for Paris compared to 11 for Le Mans.
37 touches in the opposition box compared to 19.

Their superiority in attacking output was clear. PSG managed to turn the match into a win despite some lapses in form. There was a clear gap in quality, even if chances created by Le Mans meant it wasn’t exactly a stress-free evening.

The lows.

  • 😡 Hernandez: worrying defensive lapses

The main concern on the left flank is Hernandez. Mafouta beat him to the ball for the equalizer, and later, Gueye got the better of him before hitting the crossbar in the 71st minute.

At 3-1, that second incident could have breathed new life into the match. Digne’s performance requires a more nuanced view: his deliveries to Akliouche and then Hakimi created two big chances. The clearest issue remains Hernandez’s struggle to deal with these decisive moments.

  • Godts and Torres lack cutting edge

Godts tries hard but lacks end product; his weak shot in the 28th minute epitomizes his difficulty in finishing moves. Torres does good hold-up work and wins a promising free-kick, but he completely fluffs a one-on-one chance in the 66th minute.

Their work rate is useful, yet it yields too little real danger. In a match where Paris is finding space, one expects greater precision and conviction near the goal.

  • Beraldo: sloppy passing

Beraldo converts his penalty and plays a great ball to set Hakimi off early in the game. However, a poor pass in the center circle in the 30th minute allows Le Mans to launch a counter-attack, forcing Dro to track back and defend.

These errors tarnish a performance that was otherwise decisive on the scoreboard. In midfield, the quality of a pass is also measured by the risk it creates for the team. Beraldo needs to show more consistency in this regard.
