On Saturday at the Stade de la Meinau, Paris Saint-Germain secured a 1–3 victory over Strasbourg during Matchday 7 of the 2026–2027 Ligue 1 season. As we now do after every match, we asked our readers to vote for the best PSG player of the game—and Matvey Safonov (the 27-year-old goalkeeper) came out on top.

It is a well-deserved win for Safonov, even if he perhaps could have done better on the opening goal. The Russian international helped keep a somewhat lackluster PSG side—featuring several rotated players—within striking distance. It is clear that the “backup” players did not particularly shine, as the rest of the top three consisted of players who came off the bench.
Ousmane Dembélé (the 29-year-old forward) made a massive impact, contributing a goal, an assist, and the pass leading to an assist—an impressive performance that nearly earned him the top spot, despite him playing only 25 minutes. Désiré Doué (the 21-year-old midfielder/forward) also impressed, scoring a late goal that was a welcome addition to the scoreline.
In any case, thank you for your votes. As a reminder, the top three players from each match are used to determine the “Player of the Month” award.
