This week saw the third round of the 2026-2027 Champions League league phase. To mark the occasion, UEFA held various fan polls. Paris Saint-Germain, who secured a 4-2 victory over FC Barcelona at the Parc des Princes this Tuesday, had one player named to UEFA’s Team of the Week:
Désiré Doué (a 21-year-old midfielder/forward) was named Player of the Match, so it is no surprise to see him included in this side. One might have expected other Parisians to join him, however—such as defender Lucas Hernandez (30) or midfielders Vitinha (26), Fabian Ruiz (30), and João Neves (22). But it is worth remembering that the level of competition in this tournament is always extremely high; there were plenty of other standout performances this week.
