Achraf Hakimi, the 27-year-old right wing-back for Paris Saint-Germain, stopped in the mixed zone following PSG’s 5-1 victory over Le Havre this Friday at the Stade Océane, as part of the 9th matchday of the 2026-2027 Ligue 1 season.
Hakimi: “There have been other matches that were more emotional and that meant more to me.”
The match of your life?
No, it’s not the match of my life! (smiles) I think it was a great night; I’m very happy with my performance. It’s true that this is my first hat-trick, but there have been other matches that were more emotional and that meant more to me. Still, I’m very happy with the win and the hat-trick.
Hakimi: “I’ve been playing like this for a long time.”
How do you explain this performance?
I think I’ve been playing like this for a long time—I just wasn’t scoring. Now that I’m scoring, people think I had a great night. But I believe I’ve had a very good start to the season.
I’m very happy to help the team in every aspect. Today, it happened to be through goals, but in other matches, I’ve helped the team in different ways. I’m very pleased to be at this level, and I hope to keep it up.
Hakimi: “PSG is, above all, a collective unit.”
After your injury last year, are you back to 100%?
I think my performances speak for themselves. The injury is behind me now. I feel great, I’m happy, and I’m at 100%.
Do you enjoy yourself even more with this more attacking positioning?
Yes, when I was younger, I was an attacking player—helping the team with goals, assists… But I’m a full-back; I also need to be reliable defensively.
Given the absence of key players, do you need to contribute more?
We are a team. Some important players are injured, but everyone—the whole squad—needs to step up. PSG is, above all, a collective unit.
