Ibrahim Maza, a 20-year-old attacking midfielder who represents Algeria and plays for Bayer Leverkusen (under contract until 2030), has been linked to Paris Saint-Germain ahead of the transfer window. Speaking to RTL and Sport Sport, the Algerian international was asked to comment on the rumors connecting him to PSG.
Maza: “It would be a huge dream to play for such a big club one day.”
“Of course, it would be a huge dream to play for such a big club one day. I think we all know what a massive club Paris is. It’s one of the best clubs in the world, right alongside Real Madrid, Barcelona, and Arsenal.”
“Playing for a club like that is something I am working toward—not just me, but many other footballers as well,” he stated, as reported by But!
The statement is quite clear, though it does not necessarily amount to a push to force a move to PSG. Nevertheless, Maza makes no secret of the fact that it is a destination that appeals to him—a career goal, at the very least in terms of joining one of Europe’s elite clubs, a category that includes Paris.
Should an offer arrive, it is easy to imagine it would be considered very carefully. That said, this is not enough to suggest that a transfer is imminent or likely. PSG may be pursuing other targets, Leverkusen could set a very high asking price to deter a sale, and other clubs might also enter the fray—indeed, Maza himself mentions other teams. We shall have to wait for further developments, but this is a storyline that could well unfold over the coming weeks.
