This Friday, November 6, as Paris Saint-Germain prepares to host Troyes tomorrow at the Parc des Princes for the 10th matchday of the 2026-2027 Ligue 1 season, there is a small occasion to celebrate: it is the birthday of PSG goalkeeper Lucas Chevalier, who turns 25 today.
Having arrived following lengthy negotiations with Lille in the summer of 2025, Chevalier was intended to be the successor to Gianluigi Donnarumma (who departed for Manchester City). However, he struggled to adapt and was relegated to the role of second-choice goalkeeper after a series of performances deemed too disappointing. He is now awaiting another opportunity, working in the shadow of Matvey Safonov (27)—a player who has proven difficult to displace.
One can only hope that the former Lille man remains persistent, relying on hard work and patience to eventually get his career back on track—whether at PSG or elsewhere following a transfer. And, of course, a very happy birthday to him.
