Paris Saint-Germain ended their year at the Parc des Princes with a fine victory over a confident Olympique Lyonnais (see PSG/OL video summary). The 15th day of Ligue 1 drew to a close on Sunday with the reception of the Gones, who were quickly outplayed by the Parisians and lost 3-1. Lyon defender Moussa Niakhaté took time out for a post-match chat with official broadcaster DAZN:
Niakhaté: “It’s far too little to hope for anything against PSG”.
What happened?
We’re disappointed today because we played below our standards. We wanted to come here with great intentions, to get the three points, but we fell short. In the first half, we didn’t exist. We just suffered. Georges’ goal helped and then Jordan’s chance. But it’s not enough to beat PSG.
How did you prepare for this match? Too much pressure?
No, no pressure. I think it’s been a long time since we’ve lost. We were on a good run, but today we weren’t up to the task. A quarter of an hour out of 90 minutes is far too little to hope for anything against PSG.
