According to the CIES soccer observatory, 20-year-old João Neves is the U21 midfielder who generates the most goal-scoring opportunities. He achieves a score of 91.9 in terms of performance index in this area and remains well ahead of his runner-up, 83.4 points.
Clearly, João Neves is a more than promising talent. He has formidable technical and athletic qualities. As we’ve seen with PSG, he knows how to find passes, he knows how to be dangerous and, of course, he’s decisive for his team.
Now that he’s top of the U21 rankings, we’re expecting him to climb the world rankings too. We know he has what it takes, but the hardest thing in soccer is to remain consistent and continue to progress in major competitions.
