On Friday evening, ahead of the match against AS Monaco at the Parc des Princes, Paris Saint-Germain announced six contract extensions: Luis Enrique, Willian Pacho, Lucas Beraldo, Senny Mayulu, João Neves, and Fabián Ruiz. President Nasser Al-Khelaïfi commented on the news via the PSG website.
Al-Khelaïfi: “We want to build for the long term”
“We are delighted that Luis Enrique, Senny Mayulu, João Neves, Willian Pacho, Lucas Beraldo, and Fabián Ruiz are continuing their journey with Paris Saint-Germain. They represent both the present and the future of our club’s project. Together, we want to build for the long term, remain true to our values, and continue writing a collective story that our supporters can be proud of.”
These extensions, announced as a group, certainly send a strong signal. PSG is demonstrating confidence in its players and showing that it is building for the future as well. It is not simply about enjoying a few exceptional years and being satisfied with that.
The project is a long-term one, driven by the desire to firmly establish the club among the elite, even if winning the Champions League every year is not a realistic expectation. Nevertheless, Paris intends to compete by sticking to its playing philosophy and relying on players who are developing within the squad, allowing them to fully showcase their talent.
