At the 2026 Ballon d’Or ceremony, Paris Saint-Germain was named Club of the Year for the second consecutive time. PSG president Nasser Al-Khelaïfi shared his thoughts via the club’s official website, taking the opportunity to congratulate everyone at the organization—including the players, several of whom earned high rankings for individual awards—as well as the supporters.
Al-Khelaïfi: “This trophy rewards hard work and high standards.”
“It is a source of immense pride for Paris Saint-Germain to receive this ‘Club of the Season’ award for the second year in a row. This trophy recognizes the hard work and high standards maintained by everyone at the club—from our head coach, Luis Enrique, and his staff, to our sporting advisor, Luis Campos, our players, and all those who work tirelessly every single day to help Paris Saint-Germain grow and shine. Seeing so many of our players honored tonight is a great privilege, but it also reflects our greatest strength: a collective united behind a shared ambition.”
Al-Khelaïfi: “We continue to build this project.”
“I would also like to take this opportunity to thank our supporters, whose passion and backing accompany us at every step. We continue to build this long-term project with patience and determination, and we will keep moving forward with that same passion—ensuring that the club, the city of Paris, and France continue to shine on the global stage.”
Being recognized in this way is naturally a source of pride for PSG; their efforts have been acknowledged. It is also a logical outcome, given that the Parisian club successfully won the Champions League for the second year in a row—and did so in impressive fashion. It is a major sporting achievement, and a significant boost to the club’s image—something clearly reflected in this trophy. The same cannot quite be said for the Ballon d’Or rankings.
But that is not a major issue; an individual award does not define a player—and certainly not a team. The PSG squad has more than demonstrated its quality on the pitch, through its victories and trophies. All of this is underpinned by a club with a strong, efficient structure. Everyone has a role to play, and all can take pride in these accomplishments.
