Nasser Al-Khelaïfi, Chairman of Paris Saint-Germain, comments on the club’s website on the exceptional success of a historic season for the Parisian club. He pays tribute to the entire “PSG family” – players, staff and supporters – while reminding us that this success is the fruit of a collective and sustained effort, with long-term ambitions.
Al-Khelaïfi: “Thank you to the entire Paris Saint-Germain family”.
“Dear all,
As the most unforgettable season in our history draws to a close, I would like to extend a huge Thank You to the entire Paris Saint-Germain family.
Looking back on this season today, it’s easy to forget just how demanding it has been, with numerous competitions played across several countries, at the highest level, in particularly tough groups and with some of the most difficult courses. But thanks to our collective spirit, fighting every day for the Club and for each other, this season will go down as the finest ever experienced by Paris Saint-Germain.
Al-Khelaïfi “This month in the United States, our ambition was of course to become world champions”.
Winning our first-ever Champions League title, with the second-youngest team ever fielded at this stage of the competition, the youngest in PSG’s history, and a style of play that seduced commentators the world over, will forever be engraved in the annals of soccer. This coronation comes on top of our victories in Ligue 1, the French Cup and the Champions Trophy, not to mention the outstanding performances of our handball, judo, women’s soccer, training center, eSports, and our 26 Paris 2024 Olympic athletes.
This month in the United States, our ambition was of course to become world champions, at the end of another memorable run, marked by victories against some of the biggest clubs on the planet. But after such a long season, we can be extremely proud of what our players and staff have achieved by finishing runners-up on the world stage.
All these successes are the fruit of the work of each and every one of us – presidents, players, coaches, sporting directors and collaborators of the past. Today, I’d like to say a special thank you to our soccer department, our employees, our partners, our exceptional coach Luis Enrique, and our soldiers – our players – who defend the institution every day and fight for the Club at every match, on the terra
Al-Khelaïfi “Our project is not just about winning today or tomorrow, it’s about the long term”.
I’ll never forget our supporters either: in Paris, throughout France and around the world, we have the best supporters in the world. They followed the team everywhere: in every city, every country, in the stadiums and in the streets. They have never stopped singing, never stopped believing, and have carried the team right up to the last minute, in victory and defeat alike. I’m proud that our supporters are an example to us all, and the celebrations we shared together on the Champs-Élysées and at the Parc des Princes will remain etched in our memories.
But our project is not just about winning today or tomorrow, it’s a long-term one. We’re building something solid and lasting. There is still so much to achieve. And as the song says, “after so many years of hardship and struggle”, we will continue to work harder every day. With humility, always driven by the collective spirit where the superstar is the team, faithful to the values of sport, proud to wear the colors of Paris Saint-Germain and to represent France.
Thank you for your support throughout this extraordinary season. And here’s to new victories.
Ici C’est Paris
Nasser Al-Khelaïfi,
President of Paris Saint-Germain “
The past season will go down in the annals of Paris Saint-Germain, marked by a domestic treble, a Champions League victory and a world final contested with a young and ambitious team. Nasser Al-Khelaïfi emphasizes the strength of the collective, which has enabled the club to shine on all fronts, from professional soccer to other disciplines such as handball, judo and women’s soccer.
The youthfulness of the squad, combined with a seductive style of play under Luis Enrique, illustrates the desire to build a solid long-term project. But beyond the trophies, it is the passionate support of the fans, present in large numbers and always loyal, that symbolizes the soul of PSG. The President makes no secret of his desire to go even further: his vision goes beyond the simple immediate conquest of titles, and aims to create a lasting legacy, where the team takes precedence over individuals, fully embodying French sporting values.
This collective and ambitious philosophy lays the foundations for a promising future for the capital club. We can’t wait for the new season to start, but we need to give the players time to digest all this, so they can come back even stronger in August.
