Marco Asensio, the 28-year-old striker, spoke at length on the club’s website about his “ big firsts” here at Paris Saint-Germain. His first goal, his first assist, his first meeting with the fans – he tells all.

His first goal
My first goal in Ligue 1 came against Lens, at home. It was a great goal. I wanted to score my first goal. It was also a bit of a liberation for me because I really wanted to score a goal for this club.
The truth is, it’s a moment I remember, a very good feeling. My family were also in the stands and I was able to dedicate the goal to them. I received the ball, controlled it and then shot from outside the box. It was a beautiful goal. The whole stadium shouted my name and it’s something I’ll never forget.
His first day at PSG
On my first day at PSG, I got to know the staff, the facilities and the team-mates. I was really looking forward to meeting everyone and fitting in as quickly as possible. In truth, it was very easy to work with everyone. It was a nice, special moment, new for me too, so it was great.

The first team-mate to welcome him
The first team-mate who welcomed me was Hakimi. I already knew him. I was in contact with him, he told me things about the club and that helped me make this decision.
His first match
My first match with PSG was in our stadium, with our supporters. It felt really good. I felt very comfortable. We were able to win. It was a very good start for me. I was very happy with the match.

The first decisive pass in Ligue 1, I think it was against Olympique Lyonnais. Yes, that’s right. It was a through ball to Kylian, who scored a goal.
It was also a great match for the team, where we played a great first half, especially. I have good memories of that moment too, because in the end it was a beautiful stadium against a good opponent and we played a great game.
His first meeting with the fans
My first meeting with the PSG fans was spectacular. They’re always incredibly supportive. That’s the case at every match. Whether we’re playing at home or away, they’re always there, supporting us, cheering us on and singing in every stadium.
The truth is, we feel it a lot, it gives us a lot of strength. The most special moment I remember was when we came back to Paris after winning the classic. They gave us a spectacular welcome, it was an incredible moment.

His first visit to Paris
My first visit to Paris was to visit the city center, the Louvre Museum, the Eiffel Tower and everything else. It’s a very pleasant city, with people who made me feel very welcome. So I’m delighted to be here in Paris and to be able to enjoy this city.
His first goal of the season
My first goal of the season was also scored at home, with my right foot. It was a spectacular goal, a counter-attack. Bradley Barcola collected the ball, gave it to João, who then passed it to me and I was able to score a good goal. Hopefully it’ll be the first of many this season.
