On Tuesday, Le Parisien reported that Quentin Ndjantou, the 18-year-old Paris Saint-Germain midfielder/forward who injured his hamstring on Saturday against Vendée Fontenay (French Cup round of 32), is expected to be sidelined for approximately six to eight weeks. This was confirmed by L’Equipe.
“Quentin Ndjantou underwent tests which revealed a significant injury, as reported by Le Parisien. The forward, or versatile midfielder, is expected to be out for at least six weeks.”
Unfortunately, it seems the two media outlets are not entirely in agreement. Ndjantou is indeed likely to be injured for a while. However, we are still awaiting official confirmation. We have seen the press sometimes misjudge the exact duration of an absence before. It is still difficult to expect to see the young Parisian back in action anytime soon.
It’s a shame; he was on a good run. He will need to regain his form and confidence. This is with a team that could be getting stronger, with playing time far from easy to obtain.
