This Friday, Carlo Ancelotti, the head coach of the Brazilian national team, announced his squad for the October matches against South Korea (October 10) and Japan (October 14), both part of the 2026 World Cup qualifying. Of the two Brazilian players from Paris Saint-Germain, Marquinhos (31-year-old center back) and Lucas Beraldo (21-year-old center back), only the latter has been called up.
It’s understandable that Marquinhos wasn’t selected, given his injury. Beraldo’s inclusion was less certain, as he is still primarily a backup player, both at PSG and with the national team. He will clearly have an opportunity to prove himself. We wish him good luck and hope he stays injury-free.
