On Tuesday, Paris Saint-Germain faced Brest at the Stade du Roudourou as part of the Champions League 2024-2025 play-offs. Ludovic Ajorque, the 30-year-old Brest striker, spoke to the press after the 0-3 Parisian victory. He spoke of the Parisians’ collective strength, and of his frustration at their lack of efficiency.
Ajorque “We’re learning against the big teams.”
How does it feel ?
We’re disappointed, because before the 2nd leg we were already 3 goals down. And also because we didn’t manage to get that little goal in our own half. We were even beaten by goals in our own half. But that’s the way it is, these are the big teams, they manage to stand their ground when they need to and steal from us in our own time. Well done to them.
Was the step very high ?
They’re a great team, even if we had chances to score. But we didn’t. Unfortunately, it’s 0-3 tonight. You learn against great teams. We could have scored, but that’s part of the game.
What has changed at PSG compared to before ?
They all play together, they all press together. They’re all together, that’s the difference
Ajorque “we’re going to try to enjoy ourselves at the Parc, play a great game and win this match.”
Any hopes ?
As I said, we know it’s going to be complicated, but we’re going to try and play our soccer, enjoy ourselves and get the best possible result.
Any regrets ?
Yes, we had some chances, some goals, but we didn’t score. That’s the regret of the game, because we had the chance to come back to 1-1 and they managed to score the second goal in our good time. When you take the 2nd goal, it’s always difficult afterwards because there’s a 2nd game and you don’t know if you should uncover yourself or stay in place. But as I said, we’re going to try and enjoy ourselves at the Parc, play a great game and win this match.
