This Saturday, Paris Saint-Germain travelled to face Stade Brestois on Matchday 9 of Ligue 1 and came away with a 3–0 victory. After the match, PSG head coach Luis Enrique spoke to PSG TV.
Enrique: “I think we deserved this victory”
“A lot of satisfaction, really, because we knew before the match how difficult it is to play in Brest. But we’re happy because I think we deserved this win — it was a tough game, but at the same time, I think we showed what this team is about. We had to defend against a side that plays a lot of long balls to a player like Ludovic Ajorque, who is very difficult to handle, so we’re pleased.”
Enrique: “Right now, we’re getting players back, and that’s great news”
“Every three days, we have a match to play. We’re already thinking about Lorient, our next opponent. We want to win every game. Right now, we’re getting players back from injury, and that’s great news. We’re happy!”
PSG did the job on Saturday against Brest, maintaining their strong form in Brittany — a ground where they have traditionally performed well. Last season, the Parisians scored 10 goals against Brest over their two encounters.
With this victory, PSG return to the top of the Ligue 1 table, reinforcing the sense that there may be little suspense in the title race this year.
As the fixtures continue to come thick and fast, the return of key players is a major boost for Luis Enrique and his squad. The focus now shifts to building momentum in the league, aiming to create a gap with their early-season challengers.
