As it does after every round of league matches, L’Équipe has selected its team of the week for the ninth round of Ligue 1 2025-2026, which took place this weekend (find the results and standings here). With its 3-0 victory over Brest at the Stade Francis Le Blé, Paris Saint-Germain saw two of its players selected.
Vitinha (25-year-old midfielder) and Achraf Hakimi (26-year-old right back) are quite logically included in this team of the week. The former, as so often, dominated the midfield and added a superb assist for the latter. The latter, as impressive as ever, scored a fine brace.
It’s hard to see which other Parisian could have been included, even though Paris dominated overall. The team lacked the pace and creativity needed to make a lasting impression, even though expectations are now very high for this side. There are also other Ligue 1 players who performed well and deserve to be honored, including the strikers from Lille, who won 6-1 against Metz.
