From June 15 to July 13, the first Club World Cup will take place in the United States. A new competition which has provoked much debate, but which is coming along nicely and which Paris Saint-Germain will be taking part in. We learn this Wednesday from journalist Ben Jacobs that there is a prize up for grabs for the winner, in addition to a handsome sum (obviously).
The winner of the competition will earn a special badge on his shirt until the next Club World Cup, 4 years later. This can only be seen as a little something, but there’s also the possibility of real pride. It’s also a message to other clubs not to forget this great achievement.
It’s understandable that some people attach importance to it, just as it may seem insignificant. In any case, we hope that PSG will be able to wear it, especially as it will mean that they have won another trophy, and therefore all those possible over the season. It’s not the competition that everyone was necessarily looking forward to the most, since the Champions League was the ultimate objective. But now it’s done, and if you’re going to play in this prestigious tournament, you might as well try to win it.
