Bernardo Silva, the 30-year-old attacking midfielder/winger from Portugal and Manchester City, spoke to Téléfoot on Sunday. This was an opportunity to revisit PSG’s attempt to recruit him in 2023, when his future seemed unclear.

Bernardo Silva “We talk often.”

“Luis Campos interested in me in 2023? Yes, he’s a friend. Professionally, I’d love to work with him. He helped me a lot at Monaco. We often talk. Yes, we did. I was happy at City, the club that helped me win 6 championships in 7 years, and a Champions League. I felt good here. I’m very happy.”

Bernardo Silva and Campos have a good relationship, and they keep in regular contact. But in 2023 there was also talk of a possible transfer. The Portuguese player was able to listen, without pushing for a transfer to City.

There was the idea that he wanted a new project, but in the end he stayed well and still often puts in fine performances for the club. We can’t say whether anyone has any regrets today. A player can’t be everywhere, and a club can never recruit all its prospects.
