This Wednesday, Paris Saint-Germain (25th) take on Manchester City (22nd) at the Parc des Princes for Matchday 7 of the Champions League 2024-2025 league phase. With 3 days to go before the match, RMC Sport and Le Parisien have provided news on the latest absentees Achraf Hakimi (26-year-old right-back), Marquinhos (central defender and captain) and Ousmane Dembélé (27-year-old striker).
RMC Sport:
“Ousmane Dembélé should be able to take his place against the Skyblues. He is expected to start the match. The France forward is recovering from a viral syndrome that kept him off the pitch during the week.
After discussions with Luis Enrique, Achraf Hakimi has been spared for the trip to Lens. Internally, there is no cause for concern.
After suffering an adductor strain that kept him out of the first three games of 2025, Marquinhos is also expected to hold down a place in central defense against the English champions.”
“PSG-Manchester City: optimism for Marquinhos, Dembélé and Hakimi”
We remain cautious ahead of the official press release, which should be published late morning on the eve of the match. We know that the media are sometimes too quick to jump to conclusions about whether or not a player will be present.
However, coach Luis Enrique did not seem worried about Dembélé and Marquinhos. The former has been ill, so we need to make sure he recovers well. The second had a slight muscle discomfort. We can hope it’s over, but the staff will also be careful not to take any risks. As for Hakimi, he seems to have been preserved and should therefore be able to play.
