USL Dunkerque and Paris Saint-Germain faced off this Tuesday evening in the semi-finals of the Coupe de France. The match took place at the Stade Pierre-Mauroy, where fans were able to see the northern club lead by up to 2 goals. Unfortunately for those who love the magic of the Cup, the feat was not to be, as Paris logically won 2-4 (video highlights Dunkerque/PSG). USLD coach Luis Castro spoke to beIN SPORTS about his frustration:
Castro: “We study the game plan for each match”.
Inevitably there’s disappointment and frustration when you get off to a good start and then it’s complicated?
Yes, we know their strengths. But we also know their weak points. We did some very good things on both goals. They’re more athletic and we look for spaces where we know they’re weaker.
We didn’t have the ball much, but when we did we did some great things collectively. We wanted to play our own game. It’s hard to lose because we came here to win, but at the same time I can’t say anything about the work of the players.
Are you going to build on this match?
I always tell my team that if we’re 100% focused, and study the game plan for each match, we’ll be a very difficult team to play against. We have to stay very focused, and we have to keep the same level of concentration throughout the championship.
