USL Dunkerque and Paris Saint-Germain faced off this Tuesday evening in the semi-finals of the Coupe de France. Les Nordistes quickly surprised the Rouge et Bleu by opening the scoring and doubling the lead, leaving the L2 minnows to hope for an upset. But the Parisians bounced back to beat the Dunkirkers 2-4 (video highlights Dunkerque/PSG). USLD defender Opa Sanganté spoke to beIN SPORTS about the defeat:
Sanganté: “They deserved their win. They came back well.
Did you put up a good show?
Yes, we put on a good show. We were 2-1 up, and the referee gave a corner that doesn’t exist with VAR in 2025. After that, they deserved their win. They came back well and believed right to the end. We had great values. We have nothing to be ashamed of, and PSG’s second goal hurt us because there was no corner. I think that was the turning point of the match.
How did you find PSG?
Everyone knows PSG, everyone sees them play. It’s hard to play against them, they make you run. Today we showed character. I think they’re one of the best PSG teams in recent years, and I wish them every success in the Champions League. I think they have the potential to do something in this competition.
