Paris Saint-Germain beat FC Espaly 2-4 (Espaly/PSG video highlights) on Wednesday at the Stade Marcel Michelin in the round of 16 of the Coupe de France 2024-2025. After the match, Parisian midfielder and striker Désiré Doué (19) spoke to beIN SPORTS. He reflected on the difficult qualification, complimenting his opponents and commenting on his team’s lack of precision.
Doué: “We’ll remember the qualification”.
It’s been complicated, how do you explain that?
Yes, it was complicated. We were taken by surprise right from the start. But we were serious, we pushed. We were a bit effective, even if we also missed, me first. But bravo to the opposing team too, because they played a great game.
Was it tough?
Yes, they were a team that put in a lot of intensity. And so did we. We were serious, even if we lacked precision on some occasions. But we still managed to score 4 goals, and tonight we’ll remember the qualification.
Doué: “His pupils should be proud of him.
Did you let go of the goats at the end?
Yes, I did. I was a bit ineffective throughout the match, and I could have scored 3-4 goals. But I put in 1 and I was able to help the team.
Is the opposing coach a PE teacher?
His pupils must be very proud of him. Being a teacher and playing a match against the PSG is quite something, and I think he’ll remember it, so well done to him and his team.
