Wednesday evening saw FC Espaly take on Paris Saint-Germain in the last 16 of the Coupe de France. And despite an exceptional performance from the National 3 side, they were unable to overcome the Parisian ogre this evening, losing 2-4 at the very end of the match (Espaly/PSG video highlights). Jordan Etienne, goalkeeper for the Haute Loire club, spoke to beIN SPORTS about the emotional encounter:
Etienne: “We missed 2 minutes…”.
Did you think about penalties at the end of the match?
Yes, of course we believe in it (smile). You look at the clock and see that there’s not much time left, so it’s starting to sink in. But as the coach said, we were 2 minutes short. “It’s a shame.
How did you feel about the match?
It was complicated, it took a long time, but we enjoyed it enormously, even if we didn’t have the ball as usual.
The ball outs?
Yes, that’s been our game plan for the last year and a half, and to do it against PSG is fabulous. Now we need to reproduce it in National 3.
