As part of the Nations League, Equipe de France was at the Stade de France on Thursday to take on Israel. The match featured 3 Paris Saint-Germain players on the French side: Warren Zaïre-Emery (18-year-old midfielder), Randal Kolo Muani (25-year-old striker) and Bradley Barcola (22-year-old striker). They were first-choice players in the 0-0 draw and were no more convincing than the other Bleus. Here are the Bleus notes in the press.
Le Parisien :
Barcola (3) – Kolo Muani (3) – Olise (3)
Camavinga (4) – Kanté (4,5) – Zaïre-Emery (4,5)
T. Hernandez (4) – Konaté (5) – Upamecano (6) – Koundé (4,5)
Maignan (5)
L’Equipe :
Barcola (2) – Kolo Muani (3) – Olise (3)
Camavinga (4) – Kanté (5) – Zaïre-Emery (3)
T. Hernandez (3) – Konaté (5) – Upamecano (5) – Koundé (3)
Maignan (5)
Unfortunately, these marks are well deserved after a sad match from a Equipe de France that is still struggling to find the formula to exploit its full potential. There’s a little hope at every meeting, but the content quickly calms the idea of creative Bleus capable of exciting a match.
Our Parisians, all first-team regulars even though this is a rare occurrence, failed to take advantage of the opportunity to score points. This is perhaps particularly embarrassing for Kolo Muani, who is struggling at PSG and needs to reassure himself with the national team.
