This Tuesday, the French national team will face Spain in the 2026 World Cup semi-final at 9:00 PM CET at the Dallas stadium. The match involves five Paris Saint-Germain players, all French: Lucas Hernandez, Warren Zaïre-Emery, Désiré Doué, Bradley Barcola, and Ousmane Dembélé. L’Équipe takes a look this Sunday at the probable Bleus lineup, with two question marks.
Mbappé
Doué or Barcola – Olise -Dembélé
Rabiot – Tchouaméni or Koné
Digne – Saliba – Upamecano – Koundé
Maignan.
Regarding the Bleus’ lineup, it would be surprising to see any changes other than the two uncertainties mentioned here. There has been stiff competition between Doué and Barcola since the start of the World Cup. In fact, one might wonder if it is truly a head-to-head battle between the two, or rather a matter of selecting the right profile based on the opponent—a decision requiring a precise analysis of France’s tactical intentions.
In midfield, the contest between Tchouaméni and Koné appears to be a direct battle for the same role. Koné has been impressive and could well overtake Tchouaméni, who was the starter at the beginning of the tournament—especially given that the latter is returning from injury. However, it would not be a surprise to see Tchouaméni start against Spain. As always, we will have to wait for the official announcement, made about an hour and a half before kickoff, to know for sure.
