Bradley Barcola, the 23-year-old Paris Saint-Germain and France forward, spoke to beIN SPORTS on Tuesday evening following the 3-0 victory over Sweden in the 2026 World Cup Round of 32. He discussed, among other things, the chemistry between the attacking players and his role as a starter ahead of Désiré Doué (a 21-year-old midfielder/forward for PSG and Les Bleus).
Barcola: “What we’re doing is magnificent.”
An exceptional attacking performance?
Yes, we played a really good match as a team. We managed to find each other in the open spaces, and our combination play was good. That’s why we managed to score so many goals. We could have scored even more, but honestly, tonight was excellent.
Magicians on the pitch, like Olise or Mbappé?
We have nothing but great players in this squad. You can see on the pitch that every player poses a threat. It’s incredible playing with them; what we’re doing is magnificent. I hope it stays that way.
Barcola: “Playing with him is a real pleasure; we get along really well.”
How do you handle the competition with Doué and getting the start today?
Désiré said it all. Playing with him is a real pleasure; we get along really well. At PSG, he’s provided me with so many assists. We play really well together, so it’s great. I was very happy to start. I always try to contribute to the team, whether I’m coming off the bench or starting. It worked out well today, so I’m happy.
