For several years now, Tuttosport has been organizing the Golden Boy election, a trophy awarded to the best player under the age of 21 in Europe. It starts with an initial list of 100 players, then reduces by 20 names every 20th of the month (July, August, etc.) until we reach the finalists. Now we’re down to the winners. For the 2024 edition, Paris Saint-Germain had 3 finalists: Warren Zaïre-Emery (18-year-old midfielder), João Neves (20-year-old midfielder) and Désiré Doué (19-year-old midfielder/striker). But it was Lamine Yamal (17-year-old striker for FC Barcelona and Spain) who came out on top.)
It’s no great surprise, given Lamal’s impressive performances over the previous season and the year 2024 as a whole. He’s a prodigy who’s making a name for himself with Barça and the national team. A player who is often a pleasure to watch, even if he is unfortunately not at PSG. At just 17, his achievements are admirable.
