Luis Enrique, 55, coach of Paris Saint-Germain, has led the Parisian club to a breathtaking season, marked by numerous challenges and a historic qualification for the Champions League final against Inter Milan. Speaking to the Parisian club’s website, Luis Enrique looks back on a season full of challenges, the transformation of the team under his leadership, and the pride he takes in the work he has accomplished.
Luis Enrique “A very good series
If we were to analyze everything that’s happened in the Champions League this season, I think it would make a great horror film or thriller or even a very good series. Because there’s everything, from the very first home game against Girona, where I think we would have deserved to win without having to wait until the 90th minute and taking advantage of an opponent’s mistake, to all the league games, especially at home, where we would have deserved better results, but they weren’t there.
Luis Enrique “Only one match left”.
Before the last 3 games of the League phase, we only had 4 points. 4 points and we were more out than in. If you don’t score goals, you don’t win games. There’s only one match left. There are only two teams left in the Champions League, Inter Milan and us.
They’re a more experienced team than us. There’s no doubt they deserve to be Champions League finalists. I think we can be proud of what we’ve achieved. But we need to finish the job, because our aim is to go down in history.
