This is an incredible statistic revealed by the Ecofoot website. Paris Saint-Germain pays more in social security contributions than all the clubs in 3 of the 5 major leagues (La Liga, Bundesliga and Serie A).

Stat rigolote : le Paris Saint-Germain paie plus de cotisations sociales que l’ensemble des clubs de Bundesliga (Allemagne), de Serie A (Italie) et de Liga (Espagne) réunis.

“Fun stat: Paris Saint-Germain pays more in social security contributions than all the clubs in the Bundesliga (Germany), Serie A (Italy) and La Liga (Spain) combined.”

It’s not surprising that some championships fare better than others when the rules aren’t the same. In France, clubs have to pay a number of fees that do not exist elsewhere.

This widens the gap and, above all, raises the question of Financial Fair Play, which doesn’t take this huge difference into account. We hope that one day we’ll have a more egalitarian sport. But that’s not going to happen any time soon.
