Day 4 of the Champions League 2024-2025 league phase was played this week. UEFA is organizing a series of fan votes. Paris Saint-Germain, who lost to Atlético Madrid at the Parc des Princes, has no players selected in UEFA’s Team of the Week. But there are 2 from Ligue 1: Pierre Lees-Melou (31-year-old midfielder from Brest) and Thilo Kehrer (28-year-old defender from AS Monaco).

1st: Viktor Gyökeres
2nd: Luis Díaz
3rd: Nicolas Kühn
4th: Karim Konaté

It’s no surprise not to see a PSG player, as it was a very frustrating defeat. There were some good things, though, but that’s not enough. Neither for victory, nor for a place here, even if that’s far less important.

Still, it’s a pleasure to see 2 Ligue 1 players in this standard team. The championship continues to be regularly denigrated by some, yet there are often signs of its quality.
