Luis Enrique, coach of Paris Saint-Germain (1st), held a press conference this Friday ahead of facing Le Havre (13th) at the Stade Océane tomorrow (kick-off at 9:05pm, CET) as part of the 24th matchday of Ligue 1 2025-2026. On the sidelines of this event, the Spaniard also spoke to PSG TV.
Luis Enrique: “Nobody’s happy to draw PSG.”
What’s your assessment of the season so far?
If we think about the league, there are 11 matches left. It’s the best part of the season. Lens is playing at a very high level; it’s a tight and difficult league. But we’re in the part of the season that shows our true level, so I’m optimistic. As for the Champions League, it’s just routine. I’m worried about the other teams, not us. We’re the champions. The other teams have a score to settle. We’re moving forward; that’s our mentality. Nobody’s happy to draw PSG.
Luis Enrique: “There’s no score to settle; these are different competitions.”
Chelsea to face—is it a score to settle compared to last summer?
We have to consider their change of manager; there’s a difference. They’re one of the best teams; we know them from the Club World Cup. But it’s a different competition. We need to analyze the changes, along with coach Liam Rosenior, whom we also know well. The journey is motivating. We’re used to it. There’s no revenge involved; these are different competitions. Different things will happen. It’s motivating and tough to play against an English team.
Luis Enrique “We always have difficulties against Le Havre.”
Is the motivation against Le Havre to maintain first place?
Lens plays tonight in Strasbourg; we’ll have to see if they put pressure on us or not. But that doesn’t change the fact that we always have difficulties against Le Havre. They play well, they’re in a comfortable position. We have to remember that the best part of the season is coming. We have to keep improving.
