On Saturday at Stade Bollaert, Paris Saint-Germain beat Lens 1-2 as part of Matchday 18 of Ligue 1 2024-2025. Here are the scores awarded by Le Parisien and L’Équipe to the capital’s players (find ours here).

L’Equipe :

Mendes (4) – Ruiz (5) – Vitinha (4)
Hernandez (5) – Pacho (6) – Beraldo (6) – Zaïre-Emery (5)
Donnarumma (5)
As is often the case, scores unfortunately reflect results. To be honest, the Parisians played a poor game technically speaking. They were sloppy in midfield, they played with fear in their stomachs of losing balls, and the forwards were completely out of their depth for much of the match. But Barcola scored, so he gets a 7 in L’Equipe, Lee a 6. It’s so subjective that we can debate the awarding of marks for a long time.
And yet, if we consider the Parisian performance to be good (as some of the marks imply), why didn’t Donnarumma score more, and why didn’t Mendes (who had a much better second half) get a better mark? Looking back at the match, PSG did their job, but it was a laborious one, and the goals won’t take away from the fact that some of them put in an insipid performance overall.
