This Sunday, in the 2026 Trophée des Champions, Paris Saint-Germain faced Lens at the Stade Bollaert. Robin Risser, the 21-year-old Lens goalkeeper, spoke to Ligue1+ after Lens’ 1-0 victory (Lens vs. PSG video highlights).
Risser: “We know it’s going to be a very difficult season.”
Can you compete with PSG again this season?
We have ambitions, obviously. After getting a taste of the top of the table last season, naturally, as competitors, we want to experience that again. We know it’s a new season and that expectations will be even higher, so we need to build on that, but we also know it’s going to be a very difficult season. We hope to be up there at the top of the table.
Risser: “It’s truly a team victory.”
Is tonight historic?
We’re making club history. It’s the first Trophée des Champions. We’re very happy to be writing history for this magnificent club.
What was it like holding off PSG while down to ten men for nearly an hour?
We did it with heart. We knew it was going to be tough. We held firm, all together. Today, it’s truly a team victory. We’re getting to know each other little by little with the new coaching staff; it’s important to build on that.
