Paris Saint-Germain lost 1-0 to Lens this Sunday at the Stade Bollaert in the 2026 Trophée des Champions. After the match, PSG coach Luis Enrique spoke to Ligue1+.
Luis Enrique: “We conceded that incredible goal.”
Is it hard to lose, regardless of the trophy?
The first positive thing is that if you’re playing in a final, it means you’ve done something right. Beyond that, I think we played at a higher level than I expected. We created chances to score, but in the end, that’s football. We conceded that incredible goal, but we have to congratulate the opponent and look forward to the next final.
Luis Enrique: “I think we played a good match.”
Did you expect your team to be tired from Wednesday’s match?
Not tired, no; at this stage of the season, I saw very positive things—particularly in the first half, but also in the second. I’ll say it again: I think we played a good match.
Is disappointment the main feeling for the players?
That’s life, that’s football; you have to accept it. You have to congratulate the opponent because they did everything to win the match, and we have to move forward.
Barcola and Mbaye were in the stands—are they leaving?
Have a good evening.
