Paris Saint-Germain defeated Lens 2-0 this Wednesday at the Stade Bollaert in a rescheduled match from Matchday 29 of the 2025-2026 Ligue 1 season. After the match, PSG coach Luis Enrique spoke at a press conference.
Luis Enrique: “This season has been very unusual.”
Is this the sweetest of the three titles you’ve won?
It’s the sweetest because it’s the most difficult of the three I’ve won with PSG. Lens did a very good job. I saw the matches they won, their winning streak. It was complicated. We had to manage that. This season has been very unusual. We had a lot of injuries. We had very little time off.
Luis Enrique: “He was incredible.”
What did you think of Safonov’s performance?
He was incredible. Lens deserved a better result. That’s football. It reminds me of the match we lost against Paris FC in the Coupe de France, despite having 80% possession. The team showed the right mentality.
Does it surprise you?
I’ve always said I have three top-level goalkeepers. As a team and as staff, we look for the best players. That can change, especially in the goalkeeper position. It means performing every day. Everyone on the pitch showed that ambition.

Are you going to celebrate this trophy?
My celebration is this press conference! Nothing. I celebrated last week when we were 99.9% certain (of winning the French championship). Today was confirmation.
Is Bradley Barcola’s substitution at halftime related to his performance?
“I can’t say anything important here.” I can’t explain anything, but it’s very clear.
