Nasser Al-Khelaïfi, the president of Paris Saint-Germain, spoke on the club’s official website following the official clinching of the 2025-2026 Ligue 1 title on Wednesday evening after a 2-0 victory against RC Lens in a rescheduled match from Matchday 29 (only Matchday 34 remains this Sunday at 9 p.m.).
Al-Khelaïfi: “This success is the result of a top-level collective effort.”
We are very proud of this 14th French league title – a fifth consecutive championship and a first in the Club’s history. Congratulations to the players, Luis Enrique, Luis Campos, and the entire staff for their exceptional work. This success is the result of a top-level collective effort from everyone at Paris Saint-Germain, as well as the strength of our youth academy, particularly with the professional debuts of five young players.
Al-Khelaïfi: “We continue to write our story together.”
At Paris Saint-Germain, the true star is the team, supported by our incredible fans wherever we go. Our focus is now fully on our next challenge in Budapest, with much work still to be done, as we continue to write our story together.
The PSG president is understandably delighted; this 14th French league title is a great achievement. We know that some point to the Parisian budget, which is obviously a factor. But we also regularly see that budget isn’t everything in football.
Results are achieved through hard work, effort, and teamwork. PSG has understood this well and has stopped trying to put stars at the center of the project. It’s the team first and foremost. With talented players who can shine within a strong, confident team.
Al-Khelaïfi is quite right to emphasize the work of the entire club, ensuring a clear philosophy, the best possible conditions, and everyone pulling in the same direction. We can only applaud the work of the medical staff in minimizing injuries despite a very busy schedule. For a season without any preseason training, the results are admirable.
There’s also the contribution of the youth academy, a crucial element of the project. This project continues to progress and will aim for even greater things, including the Champions League on May 30th, for a second consecutive title. This would be historic, as only Real Madrid has managed to do so (and even three times in 2017, 2018, and 2019).
